ReadyDLNA not picking up new files

For some years now there have been posts alerting Netgear to the fact that ReadyDNLA/minidlna 1.2.1, which is the release still in current firmware 6.10.5 Hotfix 1 does not pick up new files.  The most recent thread I can find about this is here:

In that thread a now retired member points out the necessary fix - the correction of an accidental typo in monitor.h, essentially

At the time of this earlier discussion the latest stable release of minidlna was still 1.2.1 which contains the above typo preventing ReadyDLNA file monitoring from working correctly.  Since then, minidlna 1.3.0 has been released (on 25.11.2020) and in this release the typo has been fixed and monitoring works again.

Please Netgear would you look at including ReadyDLNA/minidlna 1.3.0 in the next ReadyNAS firmware release.  It is a considerable chore gettiing new media files recognised by my several ReadyNAS units, all running firmware 6.10.5 Hotfix 1, and this same problem has persisted for quite a few firmware versions since the faulty mldlna 1.2.1 release was incorporated.  As things stand to get new files recognised I have to initiate a manual scan, which takes hours.

Can I also reiterate that this is nothing whatever to do with stalls due to errors in the last file added blocking a monitor scan.  The fault lies in a simple typo within the 1.2.1 release of minidlna which Netgear are currently using and which prevents monitoring from happening at all.  Thankfully this has now been superseded by a corrected official release, minidlna 1.3.0.
