ReadyNAS 104, firmware version 6.10.8 (latest, it says). Amazon Drive photo backups no longer work

I used to back up my photos to Amazon Drive using the facility in the Cloud tab of the ReadNAS Admin web interface.  But Amazon say this facility has ended (at the end of 2023).  The backups certainly don't appear to be working any more, and there is a red block by the Amazon Drive settings on the Cloud tab.  Amazon say to use Amazon Photos now.  My question is:  Will there be a backup facility in the Cloud tab to back up to Amazon Photos?

  • Netgear is clearly exiting the NAS business and if there is ever an update other than for security issues, I will be flabbergasted.  The latest OS is actually 6.10.10, but the only things it lists are some security issues (in 6.10.9) and removal of ReadyCloud and app uploads in 6.10.10.  Niether is on the update server, so you have to install them manually.

The removal of app installs would complicate installing any fix you might find.

Thank you, both of you.  It's a pity it has been discontinued, but there we are.  I will stay on the firmware version that I'm on in case I need to try a fix, but I have now switched over to using the Windows Desktop version of Amazon Photos and backing up my photos on the ReadyNAS via that.  It works.  As an aside:  It works except that I wanted to back up my 50,000 photos to the same locations as existed before, but instead it added a folder called Pictures and put the sub-folders in there, all of which are empty because I said no duplicates.  So I need to move all 50,000 photos to their respective folders under the Pictures folder, and I'm not sure what is the best way without uploading the lot.  Any ideas?
