ReadyNAS 200 series

I can confirm that the RN204 does currently not do on-the-fly transcoding.
However as an embedded developer myself, I'm sure that the Cortex-A15 processor would be capable of at-least doing some transcoding.
My impression of the Plex team leaves me to think that they don't have that high an opinion of ARM, and so aren't really looking into this.
Although I can assure you that there are high-end ARM processors out there doing transcoding in production systems.
