ReadyNAS 2100 compatibility with 4TB drives?
Anyone? I don't see anything in the HCL for 4TB drives working with the 2100. I like the NAS, and don't want to retire it, but I'd like to give it a capacity upgrade. The WD 4TB SE drive (WD4000F...
Provided you are running 4.2.16 or later 4TB drives should work even in 32-bit systems such as the 2100 v1 (4-bay rackmount).
However you may need to backup your data, do a factory reset with the new drives in place then restore data from backup due to an expansion limit.
There are of course support implications for using drives outside the compatibility list. The drives may work, but then they may not.
