ReadyNAS 2100 Fan Concerns

Yeah I suspected as much about the rack mount's but the noise Isn't really a problem as my rack is in a separate part of the house. If theres supposed to be two fans running theres a problem with at least one of them, when I get some time over the next couple of days I'll open up the unit and see if I can see any obvious problems.
As for the second hand units, they fit my needs much better than brand new units do or at least in this situation. I can get them for a fraction of the price and I enjoy the troubleshooting/tinkering of a second hand unit (within reason of course), to me that's just part of the fun! And besides that, I'm not using them for anything mission-critical, just on a home network for basic shared storage. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll definitely be more vigilant if I do end up purchasing another.
