ReadyNAS 3100: VBAT power is out of normal range
Hi all! I have a ReadyNAS 3100 that started logging the following error: VBAT power is out of normal range [expected: 3.30 current: 2.94]. Assuming the error was referring to the CMOS batter...

On the Settings page, just click on SSH to enable it. You then log in as user root using the NAS admin password.
That said, boot_info.log does not contain that type of info on my various ReadyNAS, so I believe your predecessor has done some significant tweaking of the OS. In order to do so, SSH would have to have been enabled. So if the SSH button has a green bar on the Settings page, it's already enabled.

User2032 - can you let us know what firmware you are running?
Sandshark - it looks like it might be 4.2.x, which does have sensor data in boot_info.log.

Hi Stephen,

My bad, I was thinking a 3100 was a native OS6 unit. While4 I don't have a 3100, the old OS4.2.x logs I do have to include monitoring of VBATT, which is also reported in boot_info.log. Sincet Netgear didn't include VBATT in what's monitored if you upgrade to OS6, I wouldn't worry about it as long as the real-time clock works fine when the unit is off (if it ever is). If that's the case, then the issue is likely in the monitor circuit, not the actual voltage and that's all the battery is used for. If you don't want to keep getting warnings, then you could modify the system.conf file to ignore it. That will require SSH, and it's enabled with an add-on in OS4.2.x.
But have you already tried to access via SSH? Your predecessor may have already done so.

sshd isn't running, and I don't see any way to enable it other than by installing an add-on.
In any case, it hasn't logged any VBAT errors in over 24 hours. Hopefully it'll be quiet from now on.
Thanks again to both of you for your input. I really appreciate it.
Have a great weekend!
