ReadyNas 4200 Version
How do I tell what hardware version a ReadyNas 4200 is? I am thinking that the 4200 I just received is not the current version which I believe should be V2. This NAS was delivered with Firmware ...

The only way I know of to tell which version you have would be to buy the unit and turn it on. The 4200 v2 should indicate that it is a v2 in Frontview and in RAIDar.
I presume NetGear could tell from the serial number when it was produced but unfortunately I don't think there's any way for end users to tell.
The 4200 is an expensive NAS and even far cheaper NAS units have been known to sit on a reseller's (or if the reseller ordered it in on the distributor's) shelf for quite a while before being purchased.
