ReadyNAS 516 LMS and lame for transcoding
Hi,
i migrated my music from my ReadyNAS Pro to my new and very good ReadyNAS 516.
On the Pro and on the 516 i use mostly only the LMS, and one of my players is a SLIMP3, which can only play MP3.
LMS on the Pro has lame to transcode my flac to MP3, but on the 516 lame is not in LMS included.
So my question is how to get a trascoding from flac to mp3 working?
Any answers and any help would be appreciated!
Regards, Christoph

Hi cnecne,
Haven't tried or heard of the player that you've been using. Perhaps give PLEX media a try and see if it works fine.
Kind regards,

Hi BrianL,
Logitech Media Server is a 'official' App from Netgear for OS6.
LMS is a combination of Serversoftware on the ReadyNAS and Hardwareplayer which relay on the Serversoftware.
So PLEX is no possibility.

No it's not.
It's distributed by Netgear, but is a third-party app - in this case authored by super_poussin As http://apps.readynas.com/pages/?page_id=9 says, "NOTE: NETGEAR does not warrant any third-party app."
Netgear can reach out to him, though I suggest that you also PM him in this forum.
