You say "there's no such thing as being too safe on the Internet".. Are you exposing your NAS to the internet? While a strong password is certainly a good idea, not exposing the device to the Internet at all, unless you have a specific need to do so, is the best protection.

Nope. None of my NAS devices are exposed to the Internet. There's no access to my LAN at all from the outside, except myself VPNing in through my SonicWall.
However, if through a virus or trojan or something else someone does gain access, hence me securing all my devices as much as possible, which includes 2FA-only admin access to my Sy*gy NAS devices :smileyhappy:.
