Hi dunkens
NETGEAR perform stringent tests before a disk model can be listed as compatible/qualified, I don't have any knowledge on to when the list will be updated.
It's an Enterprise drive with Vibration protection and that is what NETGEAR recommends as well. Plus the 10TB model (WD101KRYZ) is already listed for 526X so it should be fine too.

Hi
But i belive that the drive is working , but its the support option that is more a "problem"
As netgear dosent give any support while using that drive
It seems that netgear is falling behind , the drives should be certified as soon they hit the market if you ask me .

Hi dunkens
Your ReadyNAS system is still supported, NETGEAR may deny support for non listed drives if the problem is caused by the disks.
Usually this is seen on the logs. But again Support will always be there to assist.
12TB drives are just emerging and I'm sure tests are being done for each model already so we can expect this models to be added on the lists anytime soon.
Hope this helps!

In order to qualify the disks we need to run a series of tests and do it on different NAS series families. This does require a lot of disks to test properly.
We don't just add disks because of thinking they *should* work. There are two SeaGate 12TB disks in the compatibility list.

But im saying as these Wd gold 12 tb has been on the market quite some time , im kinda suprised that the tests hasnt been done already to get em on the list As the Seagate 12 are on the list ,perhaps seagate got some sponsor deals ?
