ReadyNAS communication w/ UPS over network

The first NIC on the master is configured for the other IP range. But, after fooling around I got them to talk. I actually switched roles between the two NAS devices. I made the slave the master, and the master the slave. Now they communicate, but I have a new problem. The master is on an IP range that only a few other devices are also on. It's 2 NICs are bonded, so I can't add an alternate IP address. So, almost nothing else can talk with the new master. I'm assuming what I have is now a networking issue, not something with the capabilities of the ReadyNAS devices. Any thoughts would be welcomed.
