That was exactly my question. For the cloud functionality the ReadyNAS depends on Netgear servers then as well? I am looking for a solution that is self-contained, where I can remotely access my personal drive without being redirected through other servers or be dependent on other services and servers. I guess I have to keep looking, maybe I just need to run an instance of owncloud myself.
