I just wanted to post an update to the issues I had regarding replacing 4 Seagate 750GB with 4 Seagate 1.5TB (ST31500341AS, F/W SD17 on all 4 drives) in a ReadyNAS NV+ with RAIDiator 4.1.4 in X-RAID. I had to email Seagate support and they emailed a link back on where to get the F/W update back in late January. I burned the F/W update on a bootable CD. Since, I had 4 drives to update, I had a spare computer with SATA connectors and installed one drive at a time and be sure there are no other hard drives in the computer connected while performing this F/W upgrade. This procedure alone didn't take too long which was just under 5 minutes per drive. However, as I replaced one drive at a time in the ReadyNAS, it took more than 9 hours for each drive. After replacing the last drive, it rebooted, but I was still seeing only 2.1TB, instead of 4+TB or so, but when I turned it off and turned it on again, it recognized the 4+TB.
When I checked today to see if I would still be able to d/l the F/W update from the Seagate link, I entered my model number and it said it was an affected drive, but when I entered the serial numbers, it said it didn't need updating. If this happens to anyone out there, you may need to be persistent with Seagate to get the update which has worked for me.
Thanks, Han Solo for trying to help me earlier with this issue. :D
