At this point I'm hesitant to buy another ReadyNAS, since they don't seem to be testing or certifying any current enterprise-grade drives on a product less than 4 years old. (And "NETGEAR Technical Support can and will deny support" if you use uncertified drives, according to their HCL page.) Reliability is actually important to me (hence, you know, RAID?).
I know they've released software updates, and I understand that the hardware is inherently limited and EOL, but this silence is not going to encourage me to buy a newer model.
Conversely, if I had some indication that their support was truly ongoing, I'd be much more interested in picking up a newer model, probably in addition to my existing NAS.
