Hello. I have an Ultra 6+ on order, arriving tomorrow. I plan to populate it with Hitachi 7K3000 drives, four of which I already had and two of which I just ordered from someone on eBay. The part number of all the drives is 0F12450, while the model number is HDS723030ALA640. My concern is matching the firmware on the drives. Since two of them are much newer than the other four, I presume I will have a mismatch. Whether or not that actually matters is, I'm sure, a matter for debate. But I'd definitely feel better with a matching set.
So my question is, does NetGear (or any reader) have a recommendation on whether one particular firmware revision of that drive is preferred? Hitachi support suggested that I ask that question. My old drives have firmware 390 (also known as MRK390). New drives are still unknown. Thanks!
