I bought four WD20EARX drives because it was listed on the compatibility list for NV+. They don't work.
When I inserted all 4 disks and reset the NV+ to factory settings, the NV+ churned for hours, then said "bad disk".
When I inserted 1 disk, it seemed to work. When I tried to expand xraid later with one or more additional drives, the NV+ churned for some hours and then said "kernel panic".
When I tried to insert all 4 disks and format as RAID5, the NV+ churned for more than two days, then it said "bad disk".
I don't have time for this, so I'm giving up the NV+, buying a newer/better/faster NAS instead.
An old XP computer has no problems mounting the disks.
NetGear might want to consider removing this disk from the compatibility list.
