Generally I think that the red drives are better for NAS/RAID use than the green drives.
There is no problem mixing drives models Also, you can mix sata 6gb with sata 3gb, as sata itself is backwards compatible. Also, mechanical hard drives are all much slower than even 3 gb SATA (they peak at ~150 MB/s or ~1.2 gbs).
