Are the Western Digital 6TB WD60EFRX drives currently being tested?
If not, are they going to be tested in the near future?
Then, based on past experience, once the drive testing process begins, even with issues, how long does it "usually" take for a drive to be added to the HCL.
Currently I have an RN104 with 4 of the WD30EFRX (3TB) drives in it. But I've almost run out of space. Rather then upgrading the drives to the (currently approved) WD40EFRX (4TB), or even the WD60EFRX, whenever they are approved, I'm giving heavy consideration to purchasing an RN316, and using WD60EFRX drives in that unit.
Assuming that the RN316 can/will support the WD60EFRX, and if I end up with 6 drives configured as RAID-5, the total usable storage would be one really large volume approximately 30TB, right?
