Are the Western Digital 6TB WD60EFRX drives currently being tested?
If not, are they going to be tested in the near future?
Then, based on past experience, once the drive testing process begins, even with issues, how long does it "usually" take for a drive to be added to the HCL.
I only recently joined NETGEAR so don't know much about our drive qualification process. I do know that we are careful to thoroughly test drives before approving them. We know that our users put important data on their NAS units (though I can't stress enough that if you store important data primarily on your NAS you should backup that data regularly - don't trust important data to just one device).
The WD RED drives are a popular choice.
Whilst personally I don't expect there to be any issues using these drives our support team can only assist with issues encountered using drives on the compatibility list.
