ReadyNAS Duo - Can't boot, fan running fast

RND2110-100UKS with 2x 1Tb drives, now 5 yrs old. Today switched on a couple of hours ago, fan running fast, power blue light flashing, and unable to access from Windows 10 (using RAIDAR 6.5.0 which has been working v well). Prolonger attempt to switch off at the power button fails. I'm reluctant to pull the plug. Any thoughts would be gratefully received!

  • Eventually pulled the plug, now running and accessible via RAIDAR. Do I need to be concerned? No email received from the device. No error message in logs on admin page and all seems healthy. ??

It's an old NAS, and of course it isn't supposed to run that way.

Do you have a backup plan in place for the files?

Also, I suggest downloading the full log zip file, and looking in there for errors.  The summary in the web ui leaves out a lot of stuff.

Hi Stephen, Thankyou. The logs failed to download, and then I couldnt access the admin, switched off and on but failed to connect with RAIDAR sometimes RAIDAR sees it and tells me the disks are fine, but I am unable to browse or log in. Is there anyway, if I remove a disk and plus into windows that the OS would read it?
