If you reinsert the drive after performing a factory default with another drive, and that drive in the unit, it will reformat and add to the new array. The only way around that, is if the factory default restores the WD drive to operating status, is to shut down the NAS, remove the WD drive, install the Seagate and reboot. Then the unit may boot on the one drive (you indicated you were having problems with that drive as well). If it boots successfully, then hot add the WD drive which will be reformatted and added to the array.
If you can get the NAS to boot on only the Seagate drive it would be a good time to perform a backup of all the data. As it is currently, your data is at risk. It is always advisable to maintain a current and complete backup of your all your data, and if that is not feasible, at least your critical data that cannot be replaced - like family photos, financial records, etc.
