ReadyNas Duo issue
I performed a hard reset using since I forgot the admin password, I did this few times in the past and all was good
but now I do not see any of the files existing on server, it looks like the HDD are emptied, but as I know hard reset (using the pinhole) is only cancelling the usernames and passwords not the files on HDD
maybe i still need to do something in the setup as admin? sorry for the silly question now I am a little bit afraid that I lost the content I had on the server, if so is it any possibility to recover it?
many thanks in advance

There are two related boot menu options: OS Reinstall and Factory Default.
The OS Reinstall will preserve data, but the Factory Default does not. Instead it formats the disks and does a fresh factory install. So there would be no files left, and instead of seeing your shares, you would see the factory ones.
If you accidently did the Factory Default, then unfortunately the files are gone. It's possible that RAID recovery software might be able to recover them - if you want to try that, then shut down the NAS right away, as the more writes you do, then more data will be destroyed.

Consider writing it on a card, and taping the card inside the door of the NAS. Anyone with physical access to the NAS can do the OS reinstall (or just remove the disks, and mount them in a linux system). So the password only provides network security.

so basically i still can try to use a raid recovery software,
as I believe i have to pull out the hdd from nas, connect them to pc and with this software see what can be done, right?as I believe the mistake was to keep the hard reset pressed a little bit longer than needed
than is true that i let it run without writting anything on it, since I was browsing web looking for solutions etc
anyway i will look forward to see what can be done with the raid recovery software
many thanks for your reply!

The disks are formatted differently in the original Duo (the one that runs 4.1.x firmware and says ReadyNas Duo on the front panel). Not sure that the parity disk will work with RAID recovery software. So try the first disk first - that is generally the main disk. You could start with the free R-linux for Windows. https://www.r-studio.com/free-linux-recovery/
