Well, possibly the hardware has failed - in which case the reset won't work. Or perhaps the OS partition got full (if you've been running it for many years, and never deleted logs, then that might have happened).
It's possible to get in through the support interface if you know how, but rebuilding it is the direct approach. You probably could also check to see how full the OS partition is, since Linux Reader can see it.
