They can be upgraded to run OS 6 but it is not supported and would still require a factory default. OS 6 on 256 MB of RAM though is painful.

What I'd like to do is get a pair of 6TB or 8TB disks to put in the Duo v2. That would let me fully mirror my Ultra 4 unit, and then factory default it to run OS 6 there.

You could try it but I don't know if it would work. I think 8TB disks would be more risky than trying 6TB disks.

I hadn't realized the lineup expanded so much, and also pushed prices down. Was at Fry's to look at new drives, and saw a 102 for $90, and a 202 for $150.
Going to rethink my overall storage setup now, and may end up replacing the Duo v2 with an OS 6 capable device.
