Your post says RN104, but the model number you chose was a Duo v1 (RND2150). I'm guessing the RN104 is right, since there is no balane on the Duo. Can you confirm the model, and also let us know what firmware was running on the NAS. Also let us know the disk configuration (number of disks, and RAID mode).
Can you try removing the disks (labeling by slot if you still know the slot order), and power up the NAS with no disks inside? Let us know if the NAS reports a "no disks" status on the LCD display or not.
I do not know how the subject got changed from what I orginally wrote. So sorry for the confusion.
This is a 10+ year old NAS device, and was worked fine until now. The device will, sometimes, power on for a few moments and then shut itself off. Most of the time it will not even power on. I have tried removing one of the drives, but I cannot get it to power on. Have not tried removing both drives. I have tried a reboot but that did not seem to do anything.

Some possibilities are
- chassis has failed
- power brick is failing
- disk(s) are failing in a way that interferes with the boot process
The chassis isn't repairable, but the power brick is easily replaced.
Try booting with no disks, that will give us some clues on whether it is (2) or (3). Do you have a scratch disk (2 TB or less)? If you do, you could also try erasing it (in a windows PC with seatools or lifeguard), and then booting up the NAS with just the scratch disk installed. If it does a factory install, then it's likely disk related.
Also, do you need to extract data from the NAS, or do you have a backup?

I have pulled both disks out and right now the chassis will not boot. But I have also seen that if I wait a long while, sometimes it will start (though it quickly powers down). I will try again later. (I am leaving for a month long trip tomorrow so won't be able to follow up after tonight).
Yes, I have some data on the drives that I want to recover (music files), but I have no scratch disks. If this cannot be fixed, I have a place nearby that will help me transfer the data once I return. All mission critical files are backed up multiple times elsewhere.
