ReadyNAS NV+. Replacing disk.
Hi all,
This weekend a disk crashed of my readyNAS NV+ RND4000. (Disk 2)
I replaced the disk with a new one. Bigger capacity etc. I read (guidelines) this was possible.
The ReadyNAS doesn't recognize the disk. I hear it spinning up, but then gives the comment: Disk 2 fails.
The new HDD disk was not on the compability list so I concluded it isn't compatible.
So I orderded a Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 (1TB) which is in the list.
After replacing I get exactly the same issue. Disk 2 fails also shown in the frontview. yellow led blinking.
I can't rescan Volume C:. It is greyed out
Need help. Any advice?

Was the disk volume using XRAID? If so you should be able to see the volume even with one disk failure.
What disk models are you using in the other slots? What replacement disk did you try first? What firmware is the NAS running?

Hi jongrik,
Welcome to the community!
In addition to StephenB' questions, when you put the drives in, did your system logged that new disk/s has been detected? You can check this information under Status -> Logs.
Kind regards,
