The official disk compatibility list is here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20641
But the list has been long neglected, as testing new drives in an end-of-life product is not a priority for Netgear.
I'd ignore the list, and get a WD20EFRX. It's a WDC "Red" drive intended for NAS/Raid. I have one running in my duo v1, and it works well.
I wouldn't get the EARX - the EFRX is just as environmentally green (uses little power, runs cool), tuned for RAID, and has a 3 year warranty.
