ReadyNAS NV+ v2 HDD Size
What are the biggest drives I can put in a readyNAS NV+ v2? 4x 3tb or 4x 4tb Thanks
- Nov 22, 2015
First confirm that it is a v2. If it runs 5.x.x firmware it is. But if it runs 4.1.x firmware it is a v1.
The labeling is confusing - http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how-to-tell-whether-i-have-a-duo-v1-or-duo-v2-or-nv-v1-or-nv-v2/
The v2 will take 4 TB drives (the WD40EFRX is on the HCL - http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20641).
The older v1 is limited to 2 TB.

I suggest upgrading the firmware to 5.3.11 first. It's not essential, but generally a good idea.
