ReadyNAS NVX will not power on
Model: ReadyNas NVX 4220 Firmware: 4.2.28 Issue: no power I had to move my ReadyNAS NVX and I powered it down successfully. I opted to have it do a scan on next power up. Later, when I ha...

Yes, the NVX uses a Mini-ITX, aka Flex ATX, form factor power supply like that one; and you do not need, nor is there room for, an extension cable. It does have a different pin-out, even though it has a standard looking ATX connector, so be warned. Search the forum for "legacy power supply" for a more complete message from me and use the pin-out from the reply (original link is no longer valid). That 250W one does have sufficient 12V power per the listed specs.

Thanks for the info.
Since I can sometimes be absent minded with things (such as I almost mixed up the order of my HD's!) I'm okay paying a lilttle more for a power supply if it saves me from adapting the pin config (and subsequently frying my NAS if I do it incorrectly).
So I purchased an adapted power supply from a company in the UK that seem to have found a niche in making these supplies. Found them through amazon:

Just a follow up.
I received the power supply, popped it into my NVX, plugged it in and I instantly heard that heavenly hum of the fan and HD's spinning up! Back in business baby! (i.e. My old power supply was burned out. The amazon one I ordered was a perfect fit for the NVX and it worked.)
