Yeah, I'm always suspicious about accuracy of stats.

Dropped packets are supposed to be packets that the NIC card receives but has no place to put. There are two causes I know of (in theory) - one is that the receiver doesn't have enough buffering, the second is that the receiver isn't expecting / reading packets from that particular source. I expect the second scenario is happening here. You could confirm this by setting up VLC (or some other streamer) to send something to the NAS, and see if the dropped stats go up.
