ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition can't find replacement disk
I need to replace the Hard Drive in my ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition, but no one sales this disk anymore WD20EARS-00MVWB0
Does anyone klnow if i can use a different disk like this one WD RED WD20EFRX ?
They are both on the Hardware Compatibility List Hard Disks for this unit, but not sure if an mix in the same raid, don't want to replace all 6 HD cause one failed.
Thanks.
Hi sgleon99,
It is alright to use a mix of WD20EARS and WD20EFRX disks in your NAS as long as the drives are listed in the compatibility list. It will just be fine. :smileyhappy:

The WD Green drives including EARS are not recommended even though they are on the HCL. I would definitely go with the WD Red disks or the Seagate NAS drives.
