ReadyNAS Pro Fan is very noisy

I had the same problem with my Pro Pioneer - I received it from an online store this week. I see the service notice was issued at the end of April. How long does it take to turn over the inventory on these anyway? My wife was ready the throw the new "vacuum cleaner" out the window until I came across this post.

I installed the add-on in the service notice and switched the fan connector and it seems ok now. I didn't realize the screws holding the cpu fan to the main board would pivot once loosened allowing me to wiggle the connecting wire between the plastic fan housing and the screws, so I ended up taking the whole fan off the board and messing with it for several minutes before realizing that. I assume the thermal grease between the cpu case and fan heatsink is ok now that I have it back on there - it wasn't off for too long.

Seems like a pretty basic QC issue - it started the instant I turned it on. I hope this is not indicative of the rest of my experience with the Pioneer.
