Several years later, I find this post - what a winner.
I have a pioneer and it is very noisy too.
FrontView shows that the CPU Fan Speed is zero.
I opened it up an there was a huge amount of dust in the cpu heatsink. I removed the fan (it is held in place by tiny claws on its inner edge) and cleaned it up with a small vacco.
The wiring was correct, so I installed the software patch under Add-ons - Add New, and it is all good. I am in love...
