ReadyNAS Rebooting and operating software driver and whatever elses is needed for getting it running
I have revently Picked up the ReadyNAS RNV1-S1-0000 off a buddy of mine. a little dusty. trying to get it operational and i seem to cannot find which software is the proper software for it to get it ...
Does it look like this?
If so, you picked up an Infrant ReadyNAS NV (going back to before Infrant was purchased by Netgear). It dates back to 2006.
The current firmware for it is 4.1.16, which can be downloaded here: https://kb.netgear.com/000038792/RAIDiator-Version-4-1-16-Sparc
You could try inserting the trays into the NAS and powering it up. Then run RAIDar on a PC and see if it can find it ( https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads ) Normally you'd adminster the NAS using it's web interface (http://nas-ip-address/admin) If the firmware is very old you could run into browser compatibility issues.
Yes it does look like the picture included. i have haveing a difficult time location strtup guides and such on it
With the software i have haveing issues downing which one may be the right one. Any more clarification you can give.
When powering the unit a series of lights is popping up as well. A alternating series of leds which i cannot find any troubleshooting code for this unit online

Going continusly weather a drive is in or not. as well as the eithernet port on the back is not displaying and kind of connectivity throught the lights.
when connecting to the nas should i be aptempting to connect it throught the lan connect via internet cable
or should i be connecting one of the usb plugs located on back?

Your pattern looks like the second one: SODIMM fails SPD check, re-seat SODIMM or replace SODIMM. So try opening the chassis, and reseating the memory module. If that doesn't work, you'd need to track down a compatible memory module. I'm not sure if the memory for the somewhat newer NV+ is compatible or not.
Overall, you have a ~12 year old NAS. It's not worth investing a lot of money or time to repair it.
- Other parts (for instance the power supply) are also likely to fail.
- The disk capacity is limited to 2 TB drives
- Windows file sharing is limited to SMB 1.0, which is being removed from Windows by Microsoft
If I were in your shoes, I'd get a new one if the reseating doesn't work.

I linked in the current software download (for 4.1.16) above. Are you saying you can't download that? If so, let's wait until we see if your memory issue is easily resolved.
As far as manuals go, this is a problem because your NV was already discontinued by Infrant before Netger acquired them back in 2007. In general, the NV+ manuals mostly apply, although you don't have the LCD screen that the NV+ has.

Your firmware is likely very old, so the information in the software manual might not fully apply until you upgrade to 4.1.16.

You need to connect via ethernet. The USB ports on the back are to
- attach USB drives to the NAS
- connect a UPS to the NAS (so it can shut down when the UPS battery runs out).
Also with the connections looking into my router. It also doesnot read the unit as Connected. maby its in a security lock out? or a pre boot mode? any advice on this matter.'
I got Raidar active on my pc and properly downloaded it as well but with no site of it seeing the unit
