ReadyNas RN214 6.8.0 External Backup Fails
With My NV+ I had to external drives I would rotate using for backup. That is back up ever 1 week on one and move offsite. Then the next week back up on the other and rotate.
On my RN214 I can't backup without formating the external drive before hand, then it has to do a complete backup. In window, it appears the write access gets turned off when I connected directly to a PC. However, changing it on the PC doesn't fix the issue. I still have to reformat it from PC and then it picks up a new HDD # from the RN214
Neither the backup button, or backup from the interface works
I would appeciate assistance in getting the backup functionality to work again

Hello MMcD3v1,
I understand that you are doing rotational usb backup from your NAS. I would like to verify the following information below.1. When you are doing a backup did you set to automatically eject the hard drive after the backup?
2. Please also check the permission setting of the usb hard drive every time it is connected to the NAS.
3. Do you connect the usb hard drives on the designated usb ports set on the backup job?
4. Do the usb hard drives get a different name every time it is connected to the NAS.
