ReadyNas Ultra 2 (RNDU2120) – type of the hard disk supplied
Does someone know what type of the hard disk (brand, model, etc) is supplied with Netgear ReadyNas Ultra 2 (RNDU2120)? Is it the same model for all regions or it varies depending on the country, date of purchase etc? The problem is that I currently have 2Tb Samsung F4EG (HD204UI) hard disk, which I’m planning to add to the RNDU2120 NAS with already installed 2Tb hard drive. As far as I know it is not a good idea to mix hard disks from different suppliers in the RAID systems, right? Or it should not be a problem if both drives are listed in HCL? Thanks.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredSupplied disk would vary depending on availability to NetGear at the time. It would be a consumer disk from the compatibility list.
Should be fine if both disks are on the compatibility list. - Sharky1AspirantThanks. Will it be ok even in the case of two disks operating at different RPMs? E.g. 5900 and 5400, or 7200 and 5400?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes. Speed would be limited by the slower disk, of course.
