ReadyNAS Ultra 4 (RNDU4220) & RAM upgrade?

Some years ago I read here in the forum that some users replace the RAM on there older ReadyNAS devices. Does anybody know which RAM might be compatible with the ReadyNAS Ultra 4 (RNDU4220)? Original the device comes with an 1GB DDR2 SO-DIMM.

Maybe some who are still using the ReadyNAS Ultra 4 (RNDU4220) and who performed an upgrade can still share some feedback :)

There is an old thread here:  https://community.netgear.com/t5/New-ReadyNAS-Users-General/Ultra-4-4-gig/td-p/811325 that should help.

I've upgraded the RAM in my Pro-6, but that is of course a different platform.

Granted I own a Pro 2, but i will say that when i doubled the RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB, the system UI was alot quicker and snappy.  Unsure if it helped with traffic and throughput as it is just my long term storage backup.  I think it is definitely worthwhile, esp as i have upgraded my Pro to run 6.9.5 and kept it somewhat relevant and secure.

All OS-6 Intel ReadyNAS ship with 2 GB or more.  I think its a good idea to have at least that much in the converted Pros and Ultras, since Netgear is developing and testing the firmware for platforms with that memory footprint.

I upgraded my Pro-6 RAM in order to support Crashplan backup (which requires a lot of memory).  I didn't see any performance speedup for file transfers when I did that.  However, I was (and still am) running 4.2.x firmware on that NAS.  I do intend to convert it the next time I need to do a factory reset.
