readyNas Ultra 4
I have a ReadyNas Ultra 4, with 2 disk, I configured into for Raid 1, 2 disk, the synchronization took 6 hours and completed successfully, my question is why is it when i copy files to the primary disk, the files are not getting automatically copied to the mirror disk automatically.

- PapaBear1ApprenticeThey are. You don't see the mirror. When you look at the volume, you only see the files once. Look in Frontview volume settings (Click on volume and then volume settings in the menu on the left. If you don't see the menu on the left, click on the button in the lower left that says "switch to advanced mode"). In your case the volume settings should show the configuration "Raid level X-Raid2, 2 disks" the second line, status, should say "redundant".
When you copy a file onto the NAS, it is written to the two drives at the same time, so you don't see a separate copy action. Also you cannot directly access the separate drives, you just see the volume which is on both drives. This explanation of X-Raid2 may help. Of course the animation expands to 6 drives, but it shows how X-Raid2 works. Just ignore bays 5 and 6 when it goes that far.
