ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Plus.... 18TB -> 24TB
Hi, Currently using 6x3TB Seagate 3TB ST3000DM001 drives on a ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Plus. Not a very good drive though imo, had already 2 bad ones, curiously both were in slot No.2 of the NAS... wondered...

@StephenB and @TeknoJnky, many thanks for your replies and explaining this in layman terms.
Current status: still making backups...1/2 complete as of now.
Most probably will do the reset thing on weekend if all goes well.
Still haven't decided if I should go to OS6 or not, I will read first in this forum.
If not, I will do simply what I did before, X-RAID2 with single (hehe now I know) redundancy. I didn't know default was 1 redundant disk, now I know.
I already have 2 spare 4TB disks ready just-in-case so there's not much need to spend another 4TB for dual redundancy I think.
@StephenB: I will also check out flexraid 6.
Is there any advantages of using X-RAID2 vs. flexraid 6 for 6x4TB disks? Any of them I should obviously choose?
