recently bougtht a ReadyNAS 214 wanting to use surveillance
A couple weeks ago I purchased, populated with 2 WD drives, updated software with no problems. Next I intended to hook up two surveillance cameras. So I went online to decide what camera to connect.
My problem is, I read online that NetGEAR's Surveillance is discontinued. Does that mean it will stop working, or it will not be supported in the future. Also will a future update will someday stop it from working? I don't see other options for ARM available. Am I screwed?

Welcome to the community!
Readynas Surveillance is already discontinued and was replaced by Milestone Arcus for ReadyNAS. However, Milestone Arcus is not available on ARM units due to the performance..
Surveillance will still be working with your RN214 but purchasing licenses from authorized resellers is not available anymore but there might be few available licenses being sold online. Updates should not stop ReadyNAS Surveillance from working but fixes or upgrades will no longer be supported.
