Removing and replacing hard disk
I have an Ultra 2+ with 2 x 2TB Hitachi hard disk. Over the last few months I have been getting increasing SMART error's on disk 1. I decided to remove disk 1 and take it back to the store for warrant...

Hot-add (add while NAS is on) and it will be wiped and added to the array.

Don't format it. Delete the partitions on the disk.
