What version of RAIDiator is on the ReadyNAS?
I would suggest you backup the data to another hard drive, verify backup is good, upgrade to latest firmware if you haven't already (be sure to reboot the system when prompted), verify update completed successfully, do a System > Config Backup (if want to restore configuration). Then power down and remove the 1.5TB disks. Do a factory default (http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_use_the_boot_menu), then restore the config backup, then restore data from backup.
A factory default after updating to the latest firmware will give you a clean setup on that firmware. There are some important benefits to this (e.g. 4k sector alignment when done on 4.1.7+, which will be important when you want to move to using 2TB disks).
