Replacement Fan (FAN-3) for ReadyNAS 1000S
Gang, Fan 3 on my ReadyNAS 1000s just took a dump (PART #: RNR1000S-FAN1 - I think). I called into NetGear and was told that unit is out of warranty and no longer supported. Can anyone tell me e...

Well.... Many thanks to all of you who DID NOT reply to this post - especially those of you who may still be working at at NetGear and not bothering to raise a finger or do a little research for someone who has loyally supported your product. I realize that this unit is a 1000S which was originally produced by Infrant Technologies and you "don't support" it any more but I do own several other NetGear branded units. Would have been nice for one of you to go back to engineering and ask some basic questions, do a little research and help out those of us who still own these "prehistoric" dinosaurs.
For everyone else out there experiencing fan problems on a 1000S - I have done my homework and here is your answer....
The original chassis fans in the 1000S are made by a company called ADDA - their original part number is AD0412HB-B33. This part number is no longer valid / available because it contains lead. However the good news is that there is a direct "drop in" replacement by ADDA and that part number is AD0412HB-B33-LF. This new part is a RoHS compliant version and is available from Mouser Electronics http://www.mouser.com/ as part number 664-AD0412HB-B33-LF and is described as 40mm 12VDC 3 BLADE fan. Currently these units are on backorder until May as they are a high demand item, but they are available for a small fee $12.08 USD each.
Hope this helps at least one of you out there still clinging to your old, outdated and unsupported hardware.
