Replacement for Ultra 4

The closest OS 6 model to what you have is an RN314. But the RN424 is the newest ReadyNAS 4-bay platform, so I'd check out prices on that one.
If budget is a big concern, you could also consider the RN214 - it's an arm-based unit that is about the same speed as the RN314 for file storage.

My ReadyNAS RNDU4220-100NAS died last night. I suspect a power supply failure. I wish to purchase a replacement NAS but want to avoid reformating the drives. They are my back ups. Can you please suggest a substitute that can accept the existing drives. They are 2T drives using Netgear's version of RAID.

The closest option would be an RN314 - but I'd suggest the RN424 instead. The RN314 is quite reliable, but it was introduced in 2013, and the RN424 is one of the newest ReadyNAS.
You might also consider the number of bays - if you can leave an open slot or two in the original install, then you get the most economical expansion later on.
Unfortunately you will need to off-load your data - all the current ReadyNAS models use BTRFS as the file system, not EXT. But you can temporarily mount your current volume in the new NAS - that is described here: https://kb.netgear.com/29957/ReadyNAS-Migrating-disks-from-RAIDiator-4-2-to-ReadyNAS-OS-6-x86
Note the title of the kb article does say "OS 6 (x86)". It won't work with arm platforms. The two models I recommended above are x86.
