Replacement Readynas 104
Hi ,
I have just been sent a replacement ReadyNas 104 by NTG ... Dose anyone know if I can simply move my disks to the new unit and all my data will be intact or will need to up back the data and start from scratch ??
Thanks
Andrew

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes you can move your disks across and data will remain intact.
You may wish to put a spare disk (must not be from your array) and make sure that the firmware on the replacement 104 is at least as new as the firmware on the dead one. Then power down, remove the spare disk and migrate your disks across. It is best to keep the disk order the same. - AndrewT1AspirantUnfortunately it didn't work ... waiting for NTG Level 3 support to have a look.. ;(

Did the unit hang in the boot process? - AndrewT1AspirantHi..
NAS booted OK , but all my share were off line , with zero space free...
Andrew - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredHave you tried the "volume read-only" option on the boot menu and seeing if you can copy your data off?
