We've had an unusual run of failures - we had two (external) LaCie 2tb drives fail within a year of each other - and when we replaced that with a Drobo (sorry!) one of the drives in that device failed in the first 24 hours. All this happened on the same desk - think it must be some kind of magnetic voodoo curse...
