Replicate 314 to a NV+
Hi all, Just upgraded from my trusty readynas NV+ to a 314 (both with 4 2Tb drives). Had a question - is it possible to backup the entire 8TB on my 314 to the NV+? Can Replicate work like that? ...

There is no Replicate for sparc systems like the NV+, so you won't be able to use it.
You could easily set up backup jobs for each share that can backup your entire volume. These can be setup to pull data to the nv+ or to push from the 314. Raync is a good method to use, slow on the nv+ so you might want to use nfs for the first backup then change to rsync for incrementals.
How are the 2 systems setup, do you have xraid volumes? You have suggested that you might have 8tb of data, does this mean you have not setup the volumes with raid protection?
