Request for OS6: Serviio 1.3.1 (Media Streaming Server)
Hi add-on developers,
I have a community request to make Serviio (link: http://serviio.org) available for the ReadyNAS OS6 platform both ARM and x86.
I had serveral NAS systems in the past and tried basically every Media Server available and in the end Serviio is the best one available.
It has the best transcoding and streaming functionality available, especially for streaming to SmartTVs and game consoles (e.g. PS3).
Please consider to make this add-on for ReadyNAS OS6!
Thank you,
Fremske

I just downloaded the new compiled version from your dropbox and installed it afresh. Again the same problem... there is no files shown in the share/folder on my TV/Android.
Have you tried checking the shares from your ipad, do they appear and can you play the audio files? - saketbAspirant

Ah!! finally after doing some work around got the files to display on my TV. The issue was the file path.
I mainly intend to use Serviio for audio streaming and not videos as the NAS cannot handle it.
So Now, some issues to be tackled.
1. My Samsung TV, shows that the files are not supported and does not play. I am trying to play "flac" audio files and selected the proper profile for Samsung TV "C" series. MP3 plays properly.
2. Online live streams does not show in "online" folder.
3. Playlists not showing up in shares.
I guess, as the Serviio version you complied is 1.00, there could be bugs and issues in it.
I request you to compile the latest version which is 1.40 and upload it to your dropbox. This may solve many issues.
Once again thanks to you for bringing Serviio for ReadyNAS. - super_poussinVirtuosoaddons v1.0.0 is serviio 1.3.1
working on 1.4.0 - super_poussinVirtuoso1.4.0 will be in a few minutes in the dropbox with a special ffmpeg build for serviio
let me know how it goes :)
Merry Christmas - saketbAspirant

Merry Christmas
First of all, a big Thank you for compiling the new version of Serviio.
I just downloaded and installed the newly build Serviio version to my RN104 and guess what...
My Samsung TV plays, "flac" audio files. I unchecked the "Transcoding" option and tried to play, but it fails. So, this makes it certain that RN104 is transcoding on-the-fly and streaming the audio files to my TV.
On the other hand my Panasonic Blu-Ray player plays "flac" files even without transcoding option enabled, so certainly it plays flacs natively.
Issues I found...
Playlists - I shared a folder named "playlists" with audio option enabled containing a .pls file. The .pls file is seen under the "Playlists" folder on my TV, but it lists only partial music files and not all. There is some issue here!!!
Online Content - I shared an online radio under "Live Stream" and checked the "Stream URL" and it showed in green. But when played thru my TV/Blu-ray player, it connects after about 15-20 secs and plays only first 25-30 secs and then stops and continues again after 5-10 secs. This cycle continues. Again there is some issue here!!!
Request you to check on these issues, if possible.
Thank you once again.
Merry Christmas to you as well. - fremskeGuideHi Super-Poussin,
First of all a big thanks and a huge compliment for all your support and hard work!
Bringing Serviio 1.4 to this community is great!
I have been testing your 1.4 version for a while now and have encountered some issues.
1) Serviio 1.4 add-on will always be switch off by default after a NAS reboot. So every time I need to toggle it to ON, hopefully this can be fixed?
2) Serviio 1.4 is currently not supporting subtitel support. I think, ffmpeg must be compiled with --enable-libass --enable-fontconfig --enable-libfreetype and --enable-libfribidig.
Also we need to include, the below to broadcast web streams to the clients.
- rtmpdump
- libRTMP
Who this be something you can look into and add to your FFmpeg code package?
I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks,
Fremske.
PS: In this forum you can see some guys have created FFmpeg 2.0.1 packages for Fonz Fun plug (linux) - super_poussinVirtuosodo you have a link to the forum topic ?
- fremskeGuideSorry, here it is.

In this forum various people are experimenting with different FFmpeg builds to get the best out of Serviio.
Thanks,
