Rif.: Readynas 516 access files from the internet.

Good morning I have a readynas 516 System is 6.10.4 hotfix 1. I use it for graphic file archive. I ask if it is possible to access the files also from the internet. And how it is configured. Thank you

If you are looking for personal (but remote) access, then I'd suggest using a VPN.  One way to deploy that is to find a router that has built-in support for OpenVPN and DDNS - many do.  A VPN gives secure access to your entire home network.

ReadyCloud is a free option you could try (readycloud.netgear.com).  Performance seems to be a bit hit-or-miss, especially on Macs.

My personal choice is ZeroTier.  There is a very outdated Netgear-specific app that still works, or it can be installed via SSH using the normal Debian install process.  Unlike a standard VPN, which will bridge your entire local network, it gives access only to specific devices also running ZeroTier.  I use it for both remote access and remote back-up.
