RMA replacement ReadyNAS Pro Business restarting itself
Hello,
I had an RMA swap of a ReadyNAS Pro because of a failed fan (this it the second time in less than two months, I already feel a bit hard done by the fact that I paid for an overnight RMA replacement back in December on case #20064393 and now again on case #20479396), but this replacement unit is rebooting itself (back in October of 2011, I got an RMA replacement unit that was locking up--I'm starting to get a little concerned about the reliability of these units :-/ ). I've removed all add-ons, recalibrated the fans (several times), reinstalled 4.2.22 (several times), and am now running a memory test.
Can anyone suggest what else I can try to get this unit to stop rebooting?
Can a Jedi help me?
Thanks in advance!
Victor

- OvrQualifiedAspirantThe unit just rebooted itself during the second pass of the memory test. I have a bad unit. Yay!
- chirpaLuminaryContact support again, get another RMA, on their dime for shipping.
- OvrQualifiedAspirantThanks chirpa, I amended the case once it failed memtest. I feel a little miffed about the fact that I have to go through this with the RMA'd units -- twice now an AEX unit has been defective on arrival, and the other failed less than 60 days after I got it. *sigh* ... thanks for confirming I'm not missing anything that I could try to fix it :-)
- chirpaLuminaryRMA units are refurbished systems unless they have no stock of those Grade-B systems, then you would get a brand new (rare). I guess they didn't test the refurbs well enough to catch that issue.
